i told some people, when i first told you. i've wanted to learn about magic, see if there's a way to use it for defense. i don't know if i can do it but i think it's worth looking into.

But Sam is right, Tara has changed a bit. A part of her mind has taken an edge. A necessary growth to cope with the violence and the trauma, even if it means embracing it. The dark can't hurt her if she cloaks herself in it.

[ it's nice of tara to say, but she hadn't been there when she'd taken on the role of executioner in the commune. she'd killed plenty of villagers - out of perceived mercy, because she'd witnessed them committing a crime that was beyond forgiveness, because they'd threatened someone she'd promised to protect. she can tell herself it had been because of the role compelling her, but she'd felt like she did when she'd killed richie, when she'd killed quinn and detective bailey. like she was finally doing what she'd been made for.
she knows tara would probably chalk it up to the commune, to the murder game. she'd give her an out. but that would be worse. ]
